Thanks to Air Force and you for allowing me to live vicariously through your flights. My dad was a private pilot and I grew up loving flight and airplanes. In 1983, I traveled to Pensacola to become a Naval Aviator! I failed the flight physical which at the time was a great disappointment to me. I liked what you said about following your passion unless someone tells you no. I was told no by the Navy, but at least I tried. Had I not tried (my mom wasn't in favor because she thought it too dangerous), I would have spent my whole life wondering. Additional medical testing later on, showed that the Flight surgeons were incorrect in their medical evaluation so I was able to obtain my private pilots license...my airplane doesn't remotely come close to the performance of an F16 and the cost of flying does come out of my pocket...but I am ever grateful every time I fly, to enjoy the beauty of flight!😂

Last night (May 14th, 2024) a jet , had to be military, flew over my house at the Nevada-California border in the Eastern Sierras and I have never ever heard anything so loud ever….the after effects of the fly over (plane had to be at least 20,000 ft maybe more) sound just kept going and going and going for at least 5 minutes. What on earth kind of jet/plane could that have been?

True it may not be accurate but at the hefty price tag each f35 costs it’s more effective to send in f18 and other planes. Also in theory mavericks point is if you depend to much on technology you lose your edge as a pilot. Why do you think the rookies lost to an experienced combat fighter. It’s about knowing your plane, knowing the extent you can push it what to do in a situation where technology and overwatch may not be feasible. True warfare has come a long way but skills need to be kept sharp

The navy has an air strip just across the field from the house where i grew up. It was always so amazing to watch them touch and go and then some days they would do circle patterns and fly right over the house
